Northwoods Scout Reservation

Scouts and leaders from over 25 countries will gather at Northwoods Scout Reservation near West Branch, Michigan, from July 27 to August 3 for the fourth Michigan International Camporee.  You are invited to join us on Saturday, August 2, for a day of international displays, activities, food, and FUN!  The Northwoods activity field will be the site of an international Scout festival, with Scouts, boys and girls, from all around the world showing you what Scouting is like in their countries.  This would be a great day trip for Scout troops and Cub packs and an excellent stop on the way home for troops that will complete their week of Boy Scout summer camp that morning.

Cost: $12.00 per person, which includes visitor’s souvenir MIC 2008 identification lanyard, patch, souvenir passport and information booklet, entertainment, liability insurance, land usage fee, food and FUN!

The camporee will open to visitors at 11:00 AM.  It will be closed to visitors promptly at 5:00 PM, so make sure you arrive in plenty of time to see everything.  While there is no overnight camping at Northwoods for Visitor’s Day participants, overnight camping is available at nearby Warblers Cove Campground.  Visitors will be limited to designated areas except when accompanying camporee participants to their campsite.

If you or your group would like to attend MIC 2008 Visitor’s Day, you need to complete the MIC 2008 Visitor’s Day Form and send it and your payment made out to CHIEF OKEMOS COUNCIL BSA to MIC 2008 Visitors Day, PO Box 244, St. Johns MI 48879.  You may also bring your completed form and payment to the Camporee on Visitor’s Day.

Directions to Northwoods - From the intersection of State Route 33 and State Route 55 east of West Branch MI, take State Route 55 east 6 miles to Henderson Lake Road.  Turn left (north) on Henderson Lake Road.  In 4 miles, Henderson Lake Road dead ends on Peters Road.  Turn right (east) on Peters Road and continue straight ahead to Northwoods when the main road bends to the left.
